Today we conquered the Minnesota Zoo. It's amazing. Blows the Winnipeg Zoo out of the water. It has a MONORAIL!!!
Even though some of the exhibits were closed due to the lateness of the season, and some were still being built, we had an amazing time. More photos on Facebook.
We started the day with an amazing breakfast at our hotel. We had eggs, cereal, fresh waffles, yogurt, donuts... it's nuts! And it's included! I love the GrandStay Suites! My only complaint about this hotel is that I'm pretty sure my 17 inch laptop has a bigger screen than the TVs in the room, but hey, what do you expect for an $89 a night one bedroom suite with full kitchen! It's great!!!
| Starting the day! On our way! |
We headed to the Zoo, rode the monorail, saw the sharks and the dolphins, walked the Grizzly Coast trail, and went down the Minnesota trail and the Tropical trail!
The kids tried to touch a manta ray and baby sharks, but didn't succeed. They were a little short. :-P
We had lunch at the zoo and when we were done we came back for naps. Then we tried to go to Applebees for dinner but it was too full so we ended up at a place called Raising Cain Chicken Fingers. It's chicken fingers and nothing else. They were very good! They taste a lot like KFC, but better.
Back to the hotel, another swim in the pool, and now having ice cream from Culvers, then bed. We've got a long day tomorrow of Lego Land, Mall of America rides, shopping, Underwater Adventures and (music please!) Ikea!!!!
Whoo hoo!
