I can't help it. This is my favorite type of winter, if it can be called such a thing. I don't really appreciate it in April! But, I love this weather.
It is currently -1 C, feels like -7C, windo N 26 KM/H. It's snowing lightly. Everything is covered in a fresh blanket of snow. The world is so pretty and clean!
You can't see the dog poop that is on your front lawn from when your neighbor let his dog crap there because it wasn't his lawn and it was -478392C before the windchill and he didn't feel like picking it up. You can't see the rubbish that the garbage men let fall out of your recycling box that is blowing around the neighbourhood because everyone is too lazy to stop and pick it up ("It wasn't *MY* soup can, I didn't eat chicken noodle last week, so why should I pick it up?" That, and we all drive up to our houses, open our garage doors and go inside without acutally being outside...)
Total aside, did you know that because of the garage thing, which I am also guilty of, I didn't know for over a year that I lived 2 houses away from two kids that Danica went to Daycare with? So dumb!!! What's happening to us as a society???
Anyway, back to loving the white world...
This is my idea of perfect winter. I love this kind of winter. Cold enough for snow, ice skating, tobogganing, snow ball fights. But not so cold that after 2 minutes you have frostbite and have to go in, you know? It's a nice walk, and the world is so pretty! This to me is what a perfect Christmas Day would be like, weather wise.

Like you said this belongs in December, not April. Too bad "real" winter wasn't like this, then we could have our spring back.
I wouldn't complain too much about having a garage, at least you don't have to clear your van off from snow when it's -50 !!! seriously, why did we buy this house???
Ah, but we have to clear snow off our car when it's -50C. And we still have to shovel a driveway big enough for four cars, plus our front walk, plus along the side of the house to the back yard if we want to be able to get into it at all during winter.
So, yup, the garage is a plus, but it doesn't save us any work. :-P
